How to Get Over Slumps
Fitness is a numbers game
And sometimes those numbers don't work in our favor
The numbers on the scale going up or down
Increasing the amount of weight we can lift in the gym
Increasing the amount of miles you can run within a certain amount of time
Sometimes we hit brick walls with these numbers.
Its the nature of the game
These brick walls can only be met with one thing - a change in the game plan.
Either 1 of 2 things are happening when you find yourself stuck with the numbers mentioned before
You're either haven't been following your game plan for long enough, or you've been doing it too long without making adjustments
Its more than likely the latter.
For example, if you're trying to lift heavier weights in the gym, and you've progressively been able to lift heavier weight each week for the past 6 weeks
But you find yourself stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks
You have to make adjustments for you to reach that next level
Maybe its upping your carbs or protein
or its changing the order in which you do certain exercises
or getting more sleep at night to allow for more recovery
Regardless, if a program works for you and gets you results, but you find yourself getting stuck after a while...
That means you need to up the intensity and/or make adjustments.
We can't do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result
Grit means staying persistent, but it also means doing things with intent and the smart way.
